Do you think driving ages should be raised to 18?
Do you think that the driving age should be bumped up to 18? Many people think that people should. Others think that they shouldn’t.
They should bump up the driving age. Like the article states, teens are getting in accidents because they are not ready to be behind the wheel. All 50 states prohibit teens from drinking, smoking, and carrying fire arms because they are an accident waiting to happen, but so is teens driving.
They should not make the driving age 18. Teens have a life you know! Like the article says, teens have to go to work, they have to go to school, and they have to have fun every once and a while, things that you can’t do without driving. Yeah, yeah, I know what you’re thinking, get your parents to do it. Well, there is sickness in this world, and what if someone’s parents is sick and can’t.
Driving at 16 can be very dangerous. It can also help a lot of people. So, in conclusion, it can be good, or bad.

DO TEENS NEED GDL’S??
Imagine, you’ve let your 16 year old son go out with his friends because he just received his driver’s license. You wait all night for him to return. Suddenly, you get a phone call, it’s the police. Your son has been in an accident and died. So, yes, I think GDL’s are needed.
According to the article, teens are only 7 percent of divers on the road, but 20 percent of the accidents. They do not have enough experience to drive all by themselves or with the distraction of others. They are just not ready, and that is dangerous.
As said in the article, teens need time to learn. GDL’s give them people who can help, so they do not put themselves or others at risk. GDL’s have a 5 in 15 drop in accidents.
So, in conclusion, I pick yes, GDL’s are necessary. They are needed to help save lives. They help keep teens and pedestrians safe. That’s just my opinion, what’s yours?

Should the government raise the driving age from 16 to 18? Some people say yes, and some people say no. Here are their reasons.
For the people who say yes, the government should raise the driving age from 16 to 18, this is their reasoning. The article states, “Between 1995 and 2004 there were 30,917 fatalities in accidents that involved 15-to-17 year-old drivers, according to a study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety about a third of those deaths were the teen drivers themselves. The rest were pedestrians, passengers, and people in cars that teenage drivers struck. Raising the driving age may seem burdensome to parents and busy teens, but we have to remember that this is a proposal about safety, not convenience.”
For the people who say no, the government should not raise the driving age from 16 to 18, this is their reasoning. In the article it states. “Raising the driving age will punish all young drivers for mistakes of a few of their peers. In this country we live by the principle of innocent until proven guilty. Those who want to raise the driving age have labeled teens guilty before they’ve gotten in an accident, or before they’ve stepped into a car. They believe that just because of your birth date, you are dangerous and must be punished by having your ability to drive taken from you.
Those who favor raising the driving age say that statistics show teenagers are more likely to get into accidents than adults. What they don’t say is that statistics also show that men of all ages are 77 percent more likely to kill someone while driving than women. If people want to save lives by raising the driving age, then how about saving lives by allowing only women to drive.
So, what do you think? Should the government change the driving age from 16 to 18, or keep the age at 16? Do you choose yes or no?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Should the government raise the driving age from 16 to 18? Some people say yes, and some people say no. I am going to say no the government should not raise the driving age. This is my reasoning.

In the article, “Do Teens Need Graduated Licenses?” it states that GDL systems vary from state to state. They generally allow teens to earn driving privileges gradually, rather than all at once. For instance, some GDLs allow 16-year-old to drive only during certain daylight hours, other require them to drive with an adult for a set number of hours before receiving their license. As teens gain experience, they earn more privileges.
Teenagers should be able to drive at the age 16. They should not have to have an adult with them everywhere they go, or have only certain hours they can get out and drive. So, in conclusion, I say no, the government should not raise the driving age.

Have you ever lost someone in a car crash? Were they too young to drive? Well here is how these people feel.
The article states that it is too dangerous for teens to be driving, and they should at least be 18 before even thinking about driving a car. Some teens do not even think about the results of under-age driving. “They are not prepared, move the age up to 18!” says John D’Amico.
“I think that if these teens are 16, let them drive!” says Alex Koroknay-Palicz. That is the legal age too drive. 18 is when you move out your parent’s house.
I think they should not take away the permission to drive from teens. They might have saved up the money, and buy a car at 16.Then there is a law passed saying you are supposed to be 18 before you can drive. You are taking that away from them. Now they have to wait 2 years just so they can drive. Imagine when you were 16 and got your first car. Were you happy? Let them feel the same way.
___________________________________________________________________
When you were a teen, were you happy to get your license? Well now teens might not like the idea of graduated licenses. Well that is what the government is thinking of now.
The article states that many opponents question the effectiveness of GDLs. They note that GDL restrictions reduce the number of teen drivers on the road. That reduction, they say, and not an improvement in teen driving skills, is the reason for the drop in the number of crashes involving teens.
Opponents of GDLs say that GDLs make it harder for teens to get jobs and to after school activities. GDLs said Todd Franklin of the National Motorists Association, needlessly complicate the lives of millions of families.
They can just get some good advice with more experienced drivers. After school they can just go and practice, and then get a license. Some people drive fast and some people drive really slow. It depends on where you live, and who you are around.

Should we raise the driving age to 18? Some people think yes because of the accidents that have happened with young drivers that are 16. Some other people think no because some teens might be punished by mistake of age.
Yes, in the article some people think that we should raise the driving age to 18. They think that because of the accidents that have happened with the driver of the vehicle being only 16. All 50 states keep the law of 16 year olds buying a handgun, cigarettes, and alcohol unacceptable. But, can owning a car be just as dangerous?
No, in the article some other people think the age should not be raised to 18. Some think this because what if your neighbor robs a bank, or your classmate gets in an accident. Should you be the one that gets punished? Of course not. Raising the driving age will punish all young drivers for the mistakes of their peers. We live by the principle innocent until proven guilty. What good does that do if people are getting blame guilty when they have never been behind the wheel? Raising the driving age would not save lives. Studies show that inexperienced, not age, that causes accidents. Raising the driving age to 18 will just create more inexperienced accident-prone drivers at 18 instead of 16.
In conclusion, on both sides of the debate, some people think that yes that they should raise the driving age to 18 because of so many drivers getting in accidents. Some people choose no we should not raise the driving age to 18 because some younger drivers are getting blamed for accidents that were caused by other older drivers. What do you think they should do?
Do you think the driving age should be raised to 18, or do teens need a graduating license? I think teens need a graduating license. Teens having graduating license could actually save lives.
Graduated license could actually save lives. Unlike, raising the driving age. According to the article, raising the driving age would just make more accidents, but the driver of the vehicle would just be older. Having a graduated license could help the percentage of accidents go down. Teens having graduated license could have less teens getting in a car accident because with graduating license teens can only drive to a certain place, or for just a certain amount of hours in a day.
According to the article, it is an event that many young people look forward to from the time they first ride in a car; getting their driver’s license. A license can mean the freedom to get around without having to get a ride. But some teens pay a heavy price for that freedom. Each year, car accidents result in more teen deaths than any other cause. In an effort to cut the number of driving accidents involving teens, 26 states have adopted graduating driver’s license. (GDL)
The article states, graduating licensing gives teens that experience step by step, often with adult supervision. This is much better, GDL supporters say that allowing teens full driving privileges after only a few hours of instruction. “Our current program does not teach young people to drive. They teach how to pass a driving test,” says James E. Hall of the National Transportation Safety Board. Hall and others emphasize that driving is a privilege, not a right.

Do you believe that Driving age be 18.And people need to watch the road and need to put their phones down while driving . They can really hurt and then there parents .Letting teens drive is fine but they need to be more mature. And be more careful. Yes: They should change driving age to 18. So people can be more mature about when they are driving. Some people were not ready to driving .They are not mature enough .The article states 2 boys they were 16 and 17 and the 16 year old was probably not watching where he was going and wrecked and killed the 17.The Article states sometimes people were watching the road. No: Maybe it should not be 18 because people are sometimes mature. And they kill people because they are in such a hurry. The Article states on December29,2005 . Four teenage boys from Chicago went out late one night. And had a terrible accident . The person who was driving was probably not watching the road. The Article States that people driving are always on the phones and they wreck and get people hurt . And they also blame it on another person that it was there fault . But they were the ones not watching the road.
Do you believe that teens need graduated licenses. I think that some people need graduated licenses because they might not be able to get insurance or something. Or something might be wrong with them . So they always need graduated licenses because they might not have insurance. The Article States the American Automobile Association teens account for only seven percent of the drivers on the road. But twenty percent of the accidents are reported to the police . That because many teens do not have the road expiree necessary to make driving for teens. The Article States but some teens pay a heavy price for that freedom . Graduated licenses give teens step by step often without adult supervision .GDL restrictions reduce the number of teens on the road . The article states opponents of GDLs say that GDLs make it hard for teens to find jobs and they do not want to be in a big hurry for where they are going . And that the people who are driving some teens do not watch the road .But most of the teens that are driving they usually are looking at their phones and they are not watching the road . And they get some people hurt.
Sometimes I think that teens need graduated licenses that they should practice on watching the road instead of looking at their phone. But sometimes they are watching but they are looking off the road and they wreck . And they get other people hurt.

Do you think the driving age should be raised to 18 years old, yes or no? Some people think yes and some people think no. Many think yes because of accidents and some people get killed. Many people think no because they think it is not fair and they say they will feel guilty from getting their license took away.
Yes, it should be raised. There has been many accidents. Then thousands of people start asking how to prevent it from happening. According to the article, the only way to prevent it is raise the driving age. Many people think they should.
No, it should not be raised. Many people say the will feel guilty if it is took away. The article states that it would not be fair to them. They have not had as much experience as adults have. Many people say those things because they think they can drive at 16.
So do you think yes or no? Some people think yes and some people think no. Some have many reasons why.
Do you think they should raise the driving age or do teens need a graduated license? I think they need a graduated license. I think it will prevent not having accidents more. I think (GDL) graduated license will help the teens.
The (GDL) system would work better. In prompt one it does not talk about percent drops in accidents like In prompt two. I think it will help very well because they learn how to drive in steps. They can do one thing at a time if they do it in steps. I would do it in steps.
I think they just need time to learn. (GDLs) help them do that. They do it step by step. In prompt one it does not say that go step by step. They also go by driving privileges so they just cannot go anywhere they want.
Many people ask to see if they really work. I think they work. People who believe that it does not work think it increases the rate of accidents. Some people say it is hard to get to their jobs and after school activities. In prompt one it does not help them get to jobs or after school activities as safely as in prompt two.
Do you think they need to raise the age or give them a graduated license? I think a graduated license. What do you think?

Should the driving age be raised to 18? Some people say yes, some people say no, either way let me tell you a story. On Dec 29, 2005, four teenage boys from Chicago where went out for a late-night drive and had a horrible accident. The car spun out of control and struck several objects such as a light pole! The boys were only 16 and 17. Sadly they died. Yes they should, but on the other hand no.
Yes, because the text states “After this tragic accident thousands of people began asking what could be done to prevent this from happening again. The answer is raising the driving age. That’s why I introduced legislation to raise the driving age in Illinois from 16 to 18. I realize this idea is controversial, but I could not stand by and watch one more young person die because of he or she was not quite ready to be behind the wheel.”
The text also states “All 50 states prohibit 16-year olds from drinking alcohol, buying cigarettes, and purchasing handguns. Yet somehow most states are willing to put them in charge of a car, which could potentially be a deadly weapon. Between 1995 and 2004 there were 30,917 fatalities in accidents that involved 15-17 year old drivers, according to a study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. About a third of those deaths were the teen drivers themselves. The rest were pedestrians, passengers, and people in cars that teenage drivers struck.”
So before you start driving, you may want to practice before you get your licenses. Just so you do not cause any more accidents there already is. So do you think yes or no?
If your neighbor robs a bank, should you go to jail? No, if your classmate gets in an accident, should your drivers licenses be taken away? Of course not. Neither situation is fair. Raising the driving age will punish all young drivers for the mistakes of a few of their peers.
The text states “In this country we live by the principle of innocent until proven guilty. Those who want to raise the driving age have labeled teens guilty before they’ve gotten in an accident or before they’ve even stepped into a car. They believe that just because of your birth date, you are dangerous and must be punished by having your ability to drive taken from you.”
The text also states “Those who favor raising the driving age say statistics show teenagers are more likely to get into accidents than adults. What they don’t say is that statistics also show that men are 77 percent more likely to kill someone while driving than women. If people want to save lives by raising the driving age, then how about saving lives by allowing only women to drive? Except raising the driving age won’t save lives. Studies show that it is inexperience, not age that causes accidents. Raising the driving age will just create inexperienced, accidents prone drivers at 18 instead of 16.”
So what do you say now? Yes or no? Do you think driving age should be raised to 18?
Should teens need graduated licenses? Will it help save lives? I think no teens shouldn’t this is why I think teens shouldn’t.
The article “Should Driving Age Be Raised To 18?” states “In this country we live by the principle of innocent until proven guilty. Those who want to raise the driving age have labeled teens guilty before they’ve gotten in an accident or before they’ve even stepped into a car. They believe that just because of your birth date, you are dangerous and must be punished by having your ability to drive taken from you.”
The article “Should Driving Age Be Raised To 18?” also states, “Those who favor raising the driving age say statistics show teenagers are more likely to get into accidents than adults. What they don’t say is that statistics also show that men are 77 percent more likely to kill someone while driving than women. If people want to save lives by raising the driving age, then how about saving lives by allowing only women to drive?”

As teens gain experience, they earn more privileges. Supporters of GDL say the GDL systems saves lives. Opponents of GDL say that licenses are ineffective and needlessly complicate teens lives.
So what do you think? Do you think teens should have graduated licenses? As I said before I think teens shouldn’t.

Do you think that the age to start driving should be raised to 18 instead of 16? Yes or No? Here is what two people are saying to support their evidence.
.
Yes, the text says that on December 29, 2005 four teens went out on a late-night drive and got in a terrible accident. Two of the boys a 16-year old and a 17-year old were killed. The driver was 16 years old. So do you think that they should raise the age to 18 years old.
No, the text says that we live in a country of innocent until proven guilty. Also that the people who want to raise the age are labeling the teens guilty. It also says that men of all ages are 77 percent more likely to kill someone while driving. So why are people just punishing the teens.
That is what Rep. John D’ Amico and Alex Korokany - Palicz think. That is their evidence for should the driving age be raised to 18 instead of 16. That is what they think.
Do you think that teenagers need graduated driver’s licenses, or should they raise the driving age be raised to 18 instead of 16? Here is what I think. Here is what supports my thinking.
I don’t think that they should use the GDL program. It just adds more time and learning to the experience of driving. It just adds extra time and you might forget what you learned.
Also I think that it doesn’t work anyway because the text says that in 1979 that they started the GDL program. The number of accidents tripled by 1988. It just shows that the age has increased but the maturity hasn’t. So instead of a 16-year old getting hurt in a car it is just going to be an 18-year old.
The people against GDL’s say that it makes it harder for a teen to get to their job or after-school activities. Also that it would complicate the lives of millions of families. So would it be better to have the GDL program or a worse thing to have it.
That is what I think supports my thinking. So should teens have GDl’s or shouldn’t they. I think that they shouldn’t have them.

Which said would you be for? Yes or no, well in the text theirs two sides yes or no. this is what I’ve read.
In the actuate it stats. That most people die in car acted.it stats that in 1995-2004 over 30910 people have die in the acted in that time.
In the actuate it stats. That it’s in except is the problem. It cast reach and it stats that all men are 77%. Have the crash to kill someone.
In the end I’m not the one to choose you are. So make a good chose will you. look if you don’t at least let your wife driver.
Which do you want a Graduated Drivers Licenses, or do you want your kid to diver at 18. I believe that the GDL program is helping the youth. And all the age being change to 18 is just going to stop nothing.
In leans 4-7 said. That 26 stat a proved of this program. It redoes death in these states. And 6 of the stats pass laws to go there and get listens.
In leans 15-18 stays that. Most asked are by teens with no expense. But are program is great ill save lives.
In the end its help a lot of young divers. So if you have a kid thing about them what if it was your kids would you like them to die?

I think we should be 20 to drive.
Well when your 20 your more much and you might stop drinking and if your not that ok but you might go a lot fast and wreck you might die to day but if you die it your fault and if you kill a another it your fault that you kill them ascendant kid but it all your fault. Maybe your drinking and driving and you run over ten people and you die in a rake and your family. Will cry’s do you want to run over people.
Maybe people die bye drivers but it is the kid at the wheel but some people can’t take there pain out on him so they take it out on the kid in the back and they may kill there self because you torcher them. And do you want to be now bye the guy who killed a kid.
So don’t kill the kid in the back just don’t kill him but the next time wait until his 20.

Imagine you are in a car with a 16- year old driver and he wrecks and dies. Sad, right? That is why some people are trying to raise the driving age. Others think it makes no sense. A dispute is happening.
The “yes” article states 30,917 driving fatalities involved 15-17 year olds. That is not right. Many people are trying to raise the driving age. They think it would help. It seems sensible to them. It might work, but it might not.
If your neighbor robs a bank, should you go to jail? No. If your classmate gets in an accident, should your license be revoked? No. Neither situation is fair. The “No” article states that it is unfair to raise the driving age. It is inexperience, not age that causes accidents. To them raising the driving age can help.
Both sides make sense to different people. Some are for safety. Others are for rights. Both want to do what they think is right. They both think the other side is wrong.
Imagine being able to drive only to school. At 16. That is why I picked waiting for age 18. It would eliminate some stress. GDLs just do not make sense.
With waiting for 18 to drive, you could get out of your “wild times”. The first article states that 30,917 15-17 year old drivers crashed from 1995-2004. That would have been 0 with 18 year old drivers.
GDLs just do not work. The second article states that GDLs can actually increase teen driving deaths. Are these people insane?
The second article states that after Maryland introduced GDLs, teen driving deaths tripled by 9 years later. They had made a huge mistake. People should not try to drag other states into it.
Now you have seen my reasoning for picking no. They should not make that mistake. It would make things worse.

Should the driving age be raised to 18? Some say yes and some say no. I will explain both sides of the debate.
Yes: Representative John D’ Amico says,” As an Illinois lawmaker, I cannot sit back and watch more innocent lives be claimed because of lack of experience. Raising the driving age may seem burdensome to parents and busy teens, but we have to remember that this is a proposal about safety, not convince.’’ The article states that between 1995 and 2004, there were 30,917 fatalities in accidents that involved 15-to-17-year-old drivers.
No: If your neighbor robs the bank, should you go to jail? No, of course not. It is the same thing as if your friend gets in an accident your driver’s license should not be taken away says the article.
Should the driving age be raised to 18? Some say yes and some say no. I just explained both sides of the debate.
Should the driving age be raised to 18 or should teens get a graduated license? I think that teens should get a graduated license.
Waiting till age 18 would be burdensome for parents and teen drivers says the article. It would be hard to wait that long. The article states that each year, car accidents result in more teen deaths than any other cause.
GDL systems vary from state to state. They generally allow teens to earn driving privileges. The article says as teens gain experience, they earn more privileges.
Teens account for only 7% of drivers on the road. Teens make up 20% of all accidents reported to police. The article says that driving is a privilege, not a right.
Graduated licensing gives teens that experience step by step. Often with an adult. And cuts down on teen accidents.

Should the driving age be raised to 18? Yes, some young drivers might not be ready to be behind the wheel. No, raising the age is punishment for all young drivers for the mistakes of other peers.
Yes, the driving age should be raised to 18 years of age. They could not be ready to be behind the wheel. All 50 states do not allow 16 year olds to drink, buy cigarettes, or own a handgun. But yet they let them be responsible for a car! Owning a car could be considered owning a deadly weapon. Between 1995 and 2004, there were 30,917 accidents that involved 15 to 17 year olds. The article states, that raising the driving age may be considered burdensome to some people, but we have to remember that this is about safety, not convenience.
No, the driving age should not be raised to 18 years of age. It is punishment to all young drivers for the mistake of other peers. In this country, we live by innocent until proven guilty. In the article, people who want to raise the driving age, think that you are a danger to other drivers, and your license should be taken away. Studies show that inexperience, not age, causes accidents. Cars are necessary for mobility in this country, and taking that away is a disruption for teenagers.
Although both articles are very convincing, you really have to think of the consequences about raising the driving age. Will it decrease or increase wrecks? Or will it make wrecks even more dangerous? These questions could be going through your head right now. It is time to make a difference in this world even if it means raising the driving age.
Do teens need graduated licenses? Yes, I think teenagers should have a graduated license because then they would have the chance to practice skills they do not have the hang of yet.
The article states that some GDLs allow 16-year olds only to drive during certain daylight hours. I think that would help a little with the wrecks because not as many teens on the road, means not many people on the road with little experience. GDLs are just getting teens ready for the real thing in life. That is responsibility.
In the article it says that as teens gain experience, they learn more privileges. As teens practice driving on the roads, they are learning skills to be a good and safe driver. Without GDLs there would be many more wrecks than there already is. GDLs are a way to keep our world a safe place.
The author states in the article that graduated licenses gives teens that experience step, by step, often with adult supervision. If a teen is out on the road and they have a GDL, I think there should be an adult with them to help them with difficult events. After they pass the drivers’ test, they will be ready to drive on their own without any trouble because they had a GDL to help them along the way.
People believe that GDLs will not help reduce wrecks involving teenagers. But to me GDLs would help them along the way until they are ready for the real thing without help from anybody. When I get older I am most likely to get a GDL to help me while I practice my driving skills. It might not please you but soon I will try it.

Should the Driving Age Be Raised to 18! Should the age be raised to 18 or stay 16 . If the age is raised you will not be able to go no were . If the age is raised teens will not die every 10 to 15 min of drinking and driving or texting and driving.
On Dec . 29, 2005 four teenage boys from Chicago went out for a late-night drive and a terrible accident .The answer is raising the driving . That’s why I introduced legislation to raise the driving age in Linois from 16 to 18. Raising the driving age may seem burdensome to parents and teens , but we have to remember that this is a proposal about safety , not convenience.
AII 50 states prohibit 16 year old to could be bad and some can’t stay up to drive do you say yes or no .do you want your teen driving. And some time the one how doing nothing bad on the still can have racks
DO Teen Needs Graduated Licenses ?
Each year teens are having racks. Some are driving with out license .There is a 7 percent of racks on road 20 percent all accident reported are teens racks . some of the teens gest drive when they want to but they will get pulled over
The highway safety states that 5 out of 15 teens will have a rack. Some do not have a GDL . some of them don’t have one and they are driving on the road with out one.
I say that teens need to have a GDL.they need to have them.

Should the driving age be raised to 18?
Some people say yes and some say no what do you think? Even though you will always have the ones that drink and get behind the wheel, and end up in the hospital. Then you could have the ones that does not drink or smoke you know the responsible ones. If the teens can be responsible we would not have to raise the driving age limit.
The text states that on Dec. 29, 2005, four teenage boys from Chicago went out for a late night drive and had a terrible accident. The car spun out of control and stuck several objects, including a giant light pole. Two of the boys- a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were killed. The driver of the car was just 16. After this tragic accident, thousands of people began asking what could be done to prevent this from happening again, so now the people of that city are trying to raise the driving age to 18. On the other hand the text also states that those who favor raising the drivers ages say that statistics show teenagers are more likely to get into accidents than adults. What they do not say is that statistics also show that men of all ages are 77 percent more likely to kill someone while driving than a women. If people wanted to save lives by raising the driving age, then how about saving lives by only letting women drive. Teens need the ability to drive as much as anyone else-to get to school, to get to work, to get to sports or band practice, or to just go out with their friends. The text states that everyone has a different opinion. So do you think that they should raise the driving age limit to 18 or stay the way it is? If you picked yes then what you are telling me is that you think that they should raise the driving age limit to 18. And if you said no then what you are telling me is that you do not think that they should raise the driving age limit to 18 and keep it at 16. So what do you think should it be raised?
Do teens need a graduated licenses?
I think yes and here is why the text states that it is an event that many young people look forward to from the time they first time they rode in a car, getting their driver’s license. A license can mean the freedom to get around without having to get a ride. But some teens pay a heavy price for that freedom. Each year, car accidents results in more teen deaths than any other cause. In an effort to cut the number of driving accidents involving teens, 26 states have adopted graduated driver’s license [GDL]. Six of those states passed this year and many others are also considering GDLs.
On the other hand in the text it states that it does not work. Many opponents question the effectiveness of GDLs. They note that GDL restrictions reduce the number of teen’s drivers on the road. That reduction, they say, and not an improvement in teen driving skills, is the reason for the drop in the number of crashes involving teens. Critics say GDLs may even increase teen accidents rates. Maryland, for example imposed teen driving restrictions in 1979 and saw the number of 16-year-olds in fatal accidents triple by 1988.
So that is why I think yes. Because there are many things that can be improved about this company. I think they do need a graduated license instead of waiting till there 18 to get there license. So what do you think should teens have to get graduated license or wait till they are 18?

Prompt 1: Should the Driving Age Be Raised to 18???
T: Many people think that teenagers should drive at age 18, and many don’t think teenagers should not drive at age 18. Yes, On Dec 29, 2005, four teenage boys from Chicago went out for a late-night drive and had a terrible accident. No, those who want to raise the driving age have labeled teens guilty before they’ve gotten in an accident even stepped into a car.
ID yes: Between 1995 and 2004, there were 30,917 fatalities in accidents that involved 15 to 18 year old drivers according to study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.
ID no: What they don’t say is that statistics also show that men of all ages are 77% more likely to kill someone while driving than women.
E: As Illinois lawmaker, I can’t sit back and watch more innocent lives be claimed because of lack of experience.
Prompt 2: Do Teens Need Graduated Licenses???
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T: Hook: In an effort to cut the number of driving accidents involving teens, 26 stat have adopted graduated driver’s licenses (GDLs). Yes, That’s because many teens do not have the road experience necessary to make safe driving decisions, GDL supporters say.
ID: Maryland, for example, imposed ten driving restriction in 1979 and saw the number of 16 years old in fatal accidents triple by 1988. It is event many young people look forward to from the time they first ride in a car getting their driver’s licenses. Six of those state passed new GDL law this year and many others are also considering GDLs.
ID: According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), teens account 7% of the drivers on the road, but they involved in 20% of all accidents reported to police. Opponents of GDLs say that GDLs make it harder for teens to get jobs and after school activities. For instance, some GDLs allow 16 year old to drive only during certain daylight hours, others require them to drive with an adult for a set of number of hours before receiving a license
E: “Our current program don’t teach young people to drive,” said James E. Hall of the National Transportation Safety Board

Would you want a teenager killed in a car reck? But would you also want to take away a innocent teenagers license? We do not want teenagers killed in a car reck but we also do not want innocent teens killed in a car accident.
Yes, on December 29, 2005, there were four teenage boys. They went out for a late night drive and had a terrible accident. The car spun out of control and struck several objects, including a giant pole. Two of the boys, a 16 and a 17 year old were killed.
Yes, the answer is raising the driving age. That is why Illinois from 16 to 18. I realize this idea is controversial, but I could not stand by and watch one more young person die because he or she was not ready to get behind the wheel.
No, if your neighbor robs a bank, should you go to jail? No. If your classmate gets in an accident, should you get your license taken away? Of course not Neither situation is fair. Raising the driving age will punish all young drivers for the mistakes of a few of their peers.
No, in this country we live by the principle of innocent until proven guilty. Those who want to raise the driving age have labeled teens guilty before they have gotten in an accident or before they have even stepped into a car. They believe that just because of your birth date, you are dangerous and must be punished by having your ability to drive taken from you.
No, Teens need the ability to drive just as much as anyone else to get to school, to get to work, to get to sports or band practice, or just to go out with friends.
If your not a good driver have your parents to practice with you. Let them sit next to you in the front next to you at least till you learn to drive good. Do not make other teens suffer because you can drive good.
Yes, I believe that teens need GDLs. I think it really does work. It is worth a shot at least you should try it.
Each year, car accidents result in more teen deaths than any other cause. In an effort to cut the number of driving accidents involving teens, 26 states have adopted graduated licenses (GDLs) six of those states passed new GDL laws this year and many others are also considering GDLs.
GDL systems vary from state to state. They generally allow teens to earn driving privileges gradually, rather than all at once. For instance, some GDLs allow 16 year olds to drive only during certain daylight hours before receiving a license. As teens gain experience, they earn more privileges.
Graduated licensing gives teens that experience step by step, often with adult supervision. This is much better, GDL supporters say, than allowing teens full driving privileges after only a few hours of instruction. “Our current programs do not teach young people to drive,” said James E. Hall of the national Transportation Safety Board. “They teach them how to pass a driving test.” Hall and others emphasize that driving is a privilege, not a right.
You should defintly try GDL out. If you do not like it then stop doing it. It could save a teens life.
